Man on motorized bike fatally struck in Sulphur

A Lake Charles man was killed Wednesday night when his motorized bike collided with a car on High Hope Road in Sulphur.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said deputies responded to the wreck at about 8:45 pm Wednesday on High Hope Road near Ash Drive.

Vincent said Wesley A. Henry, 31, was riding the motorized bike in the middle of the roadway on High Hope Road when the driver of the car hit Henry from behind.  Henry was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatality is still under investigation.  In accordance with Louisiana state law, standard field sobriety testing was conducted on the driver of the car, and impairment was ruled out.
