    Don Juan places seventh individually

    AVERY — Three Hopkins County schools recently participated in the Avery Invitational cross country meet at Avery High School. Each team had a good day and representing their school well, with multiple strong performances.

    NORTH HOPKINS

    The North Hopkins Panthers were represented by two runners, and the Lady Panthers had one runner.

    In the boys race, Brayden Brown took top honors, placing 38th with a time of 23:09. Behind him was Ryker Berry, who placed 52nd with a time of 24:36.

    On the girls side, Ashley Shipman placed 14th in the varsity girls race with a time of 14:24.

    SALTILLO

    The Saltillo Lions finished in third place as a team, while the Lady Lions took fourth place as a team.

    In the boys race, Adrian Don Juan took claimed top honors, placing seventh with a time of 19:12. Not far behind him was Dakoda Womack, who placed ninth with a time of 19:55.

    Rounding out the boys results were Jonas Beadle, 20th with a time of 21:21; Tobin Potter, 29th with a time of 21:52; Colby Walker, 42nd with a time of 23:34; Ethan Sexton, 44th with a time of 24:07; and Lucas Womack, 45th with a time of 24:09.

    On the girls side, Addi Pipkin was the highest placing Lady Lion, coming in 12th place with a time of 14:21.2. Right behind her was Yisset Moreno, who placed 13th with a time of 14:21.7.

    Jaelynn Miller also cracked the top-20, coming in 16th place with a time of 14:35. Rounding out the results were Kenzi Pipkin, 27th with a time of 15:36; Amberley White, 30th with a time of 15:39; Eden Godwin, 31st with a time of 15:41; and Jaylee Miller, 39th with a time of 16:38.

    SULPHUR BLUFF

    The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears took sixth place as a team, while the Bears came in eighth place as a team.

    In the girls race, Natalie Carrell was the highest placing runner, coming in 19th with a time of 14:52. Kailey Johnson was second on the team, placing 24th with a time of 14:59.

    Taylor Johnson placed 25th with a time of 15:01. Rounding the results out were Macy Stanley, 47th with a time of 17:47; and CoDa Cockrell, 50th with a time of 18:38.

    On the boys side, Landon Marroquin took top honors, placing 13th with a time of 20:10. Next on the team was Oscar Fernandez, who placed 21st with a time of 21:24.

    Hugo Hernandez also placed in the top-25, placing 24th with a time of 21:35. Rounding out the results were Dylan Byrd, 51st with a time of 24:26; Denton Klemptner, 59th with a time of 25:09.2; Maddox Peyton, 60th with a time of 25:09.7; and Evan Dugnolle, 66th with a time of 28:23.
