    DENTON — The Sulphur Springs track and field program competed at the Regional Track and Field meet at the University of North Texas last weekend. During that time, both teams performed well in multiple events.

    WILDCATS

    On the boys side, Creed Whisenhunt placed ninth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.91 seconds. Wyatt Watson placed 13th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.12 seconds.

    The 4x100-meter relay team, consisting of CT Galloway, Gio |barra, Kyshon John, and X’zavion Johnson placed 13th with a time of 43.59 seconds.

    LADY WILDCATS

    On the girls side, Jaicee Jasmer earned a gold medal in the pole vault, placing first with a height of 13 feet, six inches. In addition to qualifying for state, Jasmer also set records for Sulphur Springs High School and the Regional meet.

    Codee Roland placed eighth in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet, 1.25 inches. Edith Martinez took 10th place in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:25. Madyson Gilbert placed 12th in the shot put throw with a distance of 31 feet, one inch.

    Jasmer is advancing to the state meet, which will be May 4 to 6 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
