Class of 2024 graduates honored at commencement ceremony
Rain didn't dampen the spirits of the graduates or their family members during Sulphur Springs High School's 2024 commencement exercises Friday evening. The program was, originally set to take place at Gerald Prim Stadium, but was moved to the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Arena. That ended up being a good decision due to thunderstorms that swept across the area during the ceremony.

The Sulphur Springs High School 2024 Graduates toss their caps, following a tradition dating back to 1912 at the U.S. Naval Academy. Upon graduation, midshipmen would throw their hats in the air when they received a new naval officer's hat. For high school gradutes, the cap toss represents the transition to a new phase of their lives.
Rylie Carroll received her high school diploma from board president Craig Roberts. Carroll will be attending Texas A&M University this fall.
Logan McCain was all smiles as she received her high school diploma from schoo;l board president Craig Roberts. McCain plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University this fall and become a nurse after earning her degree.
