AUSTIN — Recently graduated Sulphur Springs High School senior Nicole Higgins was recently named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State team. She earned this honor after an outstanding senior season on the field.

Higgins, a four-year varsity player for the Lady Wildcats, performed well during her senior year. The Lady Wildcats’ shortstop and two-hole hitter recorded a .558 batting average.

Additionally, she also recorded nine doubles, one triple, and three home runs, adding 21 RBIs.

For her efforts this season, Higgins was named District 15-4A Co-Offensive Player of the Year, sharing the award with teammate Bayler Boatman.

With this award, Higgins adds another accolade to her high school softball resume.
