    Weekend forecast to start off rainy in Greater Akron, NWS says

    The end of the work week is finally here for Summit County residents, but the weather will be less than enjoyable to begin this weekend as more rain is on the horizon, according to the National Weather Service .

    Cloudy skies will give way to rain beginning Friday afternoon and continue throughout the evening. Saturday's weather also brings a chance of precipitation during the day, but the rest of the weekend looks clear.

    Temperatures are projected to reach as high as 90 degrees on Sunday, but the daily highs should be in the low 80s Friday and Saturday.

    What's the weather forecast for Summit County?

    Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Southwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

    Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

    Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

    Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

    Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

    Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66.

    Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87.
