Patrick Kinahan: Only guarantee with Whittingham's retirement is no long farewell party
SALT LAKE CITY — Soon after Utah lost to BYU in football three years ago, word got out that Kyle Whittingham had coached his last game between the two rivals. Another retirement push came one year later when a prominent journalist on the West Coast printed Whittingham would be done if his Utah team reached the Rose Bowl, which it did to conclude the 2022 season. The latest prediction has him making one more run with quarterback Cam Rising, who is playing his final season — we think, anyway — after seven years in college.

Talkin' Sports: DJ and PK talk Jazz, Utes, Cougars
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — DJ and PK talked about three of your favorite teams this week, the Jazz, the Utes and the Cougars. The Utah Jazz have wrapped up the Salt Lake City Summer League and moved on to Las Vegas. Keyonte George has posted a couple of 30-point games. Has he taken a big step forward or do they just have too many players to keep him in the line up? Plus, Isaiah Collier has made an immediate splash with his ability to beat people off of the dribble, but the summer leagues typically have smaller, less imposing players. Will Collier be able to finish at the rim over bigger, veteran and more athletic players or will he develop a jump shot that pulls players away from the rim and a floater so he can score before he gets to the biggest rim protectors? The Jazz have also invested draft picks in a pair of athletic wings in Taylor Hendricks and Cody Williams. DJ and PK talk about their possibilities.
