Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended the National Governors Association Summer Meeting in downtown Salt Lake City on Friday. His participation comes after spending time in Washington D.C. for the 2024 NATO Summit. Also in attendance at the meeting were multiple state governors, Texan actor Matthew McConaughey and hundreds of guests. Following an introduction from Utah Gov. Spencer Cox and a standing ovation from the crowd, Zelenskyy delivered a speech on stage to rally support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. Gov. Cox, President Zelenskyy and multiple high-ranking Ukrainian officials later signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Utah and the province surrounding the capital of Ukraine.

Reyes joined a coalition of 26 states that filed a brief Friday before the U.S. Supreme Court opposing the Hillsborough County Transit Authority’s no-religious-speech advertising policy. The coalition urged the Court to review the policy because it infringed on the First Amendment rights of a Jewish synagogue, Young Israel of Tampa, to advertise on public transportation in Tampa, Florida.

New Park City water treatment plant meets stream discharge regulations
Park City gets around half of its water from abandoned mining tunnels that include a variety of contaminants, such as arsenic and lead. Pickleball, pool top list of Park City recreation’s busy summer capital project list
Park City Municipal has issued a Request for Proposals for a private developer to build a 12-court pickleball facility on a city-owned property between the Ice Arena and the US Ski and Snowboard building at Quinn’s. Park City Recreation Director Ken Fisher said the city chose this route after voters turned down a bond last November to build additional pickleball courts in town.
