Captain America: Brave New World Taps The Marvels, What If? Composer for Musical Score

Laura Karpman will provide the score for Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World .

Captain America: Brave New World will be released in United States theaters in February 2025 as part of Phase 5 of the MCU . The film sees Anthony Mackie reprise his role as Captain America/Sam Wilson.

Per Variety , Marvel Studios has tapped Karpman to provide the score for the movie.

Karpman has worked with Marvel before, as she scored the studios’ What If…? series, along with 2022’s Ms. Marvel and 2023’s The Marvels. She also provided the score for HBO’s Lovecraft Country, 2023’s American Fiction (which she won an Academy Award for), and more.

“I am beyond thrilled to collaborate with Marvel Studios again on Captain America: Brave New World,” Karpman said. “I love everything about Sam Wilson; his grit, his intelligence, his guts, and his charisma, and it is my honor to support this phenomenal film with an intriguing and powerful underscore.”

What else do we know about Captain America: Brave New World?

Along with Mackie, the fourth Captain America movie stars Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/Leader, and Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolts” Ross/Red Hulk.

Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Seth Rollins, Rosa Salazar, and Takehiro Hira also will appear in the film.

The movie is directed by Julius Onah, who previously made 2015’s The Girl Is in Trouble, 2018’s The Cloverfield Paradox, and 2019’s Luce. Kevin Feige and Nate Moore produce the movie, while Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serve as executive producers.

Serving as a continuation of the 2021 miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Captain America: Brave New World will be released in United States theaters on February 14, 2025.

Following that, Marvel will be releasing Thunderbolts* on May 2, 2025, which will be the final film in Phase 5 of the MCU. Phase 6 then kicks off on July 25, 2025, with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, followed by Blade on November 7, 2025, and Avengers: Doomsday on May 1, 2026.
