Iron Man Trailer Teases Brutal New Era for Tony Stark

The past year has not been an easy one for Tony Stark . He played a dangerous game, secretly aiding the X-Men in their battle with Orchis. Now, he has regained control of his company and his fortune, but lost his relationship with Emma Frost . This sets the stage for a more vicious Iron Man , whose newfound edge is highlighted in a new trailer.

The new Iron Man series marks the Marvel Comics debut of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Spencer Ackerman . He previously penned the Waller vs. Wildstorm series for DC Comics . The artwork will be provided by Alien artist Julius Ohta , with colors by Alex Sinclair .

Tony Stark an angrier man in new Iron Man series

Tony Stark may have his fortune and company back, but his problems are far from over as the new series opens. Roxxon and A.I.M. team up once again to take on Stark Unlimited! But they’re preparing for the old Tony Stark. Not the new “Improvised Iron Man.”

Tony has never suffered fools gladly, but his recent losses have left him more determined than ever. This Iron Man is willing to fight back, play dirty, and unleash everything he has to bring his enemies down. This includes a brand-new armor as adaptable and upgradable as Tony himself.

“Down to the armor Iron Man is wearing, Tony is in pure survival mode from jump,” Ackerman explained in a recent interview with ComicBook.com . “The stakes start out very high and escalate from there. A big theme of this run is going to be scale. The pursuit of it, the maintenance of it, (and) the cost of it. We’ve seen Tony cross some very serious moral lines in the past. Now we’re going to scale them up.”

Iron Man #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on October 23, 2024.
