The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the lane closures on U.S. Highway 60 between Superior and Miami during daylight hours on Wednesday, May 29, for construction activities related to the US60, Queen Creek and Waterfall Canyon bridges replacement project.

US60 between Superior and Miami, mileposts 227-231, will be intermittently reduced to one lane only with alternating east- and westbound travel. On-site flaggers and a pilot car will assist drivers through the work zone. Drivers should be prepared to stop when approaching and proceeding through the flagging operation. Expect delays of up to 15 minutes, according to a release.

Motorists should plan for lane restrictions and speed reductions in the work zone; and a 12-foot vehicle width restriction. Oversize loads may be accommodated with advance notice.

Full closures of US60, when required, will occur 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays through November.

For information about this project and to sign up for notifications, go to azdot.gov/US60QueenCreekBridgeProject .

Drivers should allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down, use caution and merge safely when approaching and traveling through highway work zones, the release states.
