Update: Coast Guard Clears ‘Vista Star’ For Operation After Striking Breakwater
6:15 p.m. update: After the Vista Star struck a breakwater wall in the Wisconsin Entry to the Duluth-Superior harbor late Saturday evening, the Coast Guard inspected the hull of the boat Sunday evening and gave the all clear for operations to resume, according to Vista Fleet Owner Justin Steinbach. He added the Vista Star cruises will start back up as normal on Monday.

Marble and Glass Art Hunt Brings Excitement to Duluth Public Library
DULUTH, Minn. — The Annual Marble and Glass Art Hunt was Wednesday morning in Duluth and this year it took on a whole new meaning. Lake Superior Art Glass had a new venue for the hunt this year, the Duluth Public Library’s three branch locations. Hunters of all ages lined up to search for handcrafted marbles, pendants, and little glass statues. Previously, the hunt was held across Duluth’s public parks and enjoy the outdoors. This year, hunters ventured into the shelves to search.
CHUM, Union Gospel Mission share opinions on proposed ordinance package
CHUM and Union Gospel Mission address concerns regarding the ten proposed city ordinances. CHUM, Union Gospel Mission along with seven other organizations sent a letter to Mayor Reinert outlining their concerns about Duluth’s ten proposed city ordinances. The proposal would alter city code to make certain non-violent crimes misdemeanors replacing fines in some cases – something that the mayor admits hasn’t worked in the past.
