Teen Night Winding Down in Beach Haven as Lawsuit Looms
As dozens of teens boogied and mingled within the walls of a Beach Haven restaurant and bar, police officers were stationed on the corner outside awaiting their exit. Beach Haven Borough Council banned teen nights, a long-running Beach Haven tradition, on June 19 after reports of unruly behavior swirled around the annual, summer events. Michael Battista, a local business owner who hosted the gatherings, fired back at the town with a lawsuit, arguing that the events are safe, supervised and an invaluable piece of the Island’s teenage culture.
On the run: Man charged with murdering NJ mom
MANCHESTER — A suspect has been charged with murder in the death of a 25-year-old mother found shot to death in the stomach. He is a fugitive from justice. Maxwell Johnston, 35, of Manchester, is the suspect in the killing of Gabriella Caroleo, of Barnegat. Her body was found near the intersection of Ridgeway Road (Route 571) and Hope Chapel Road (Route 547) in Manchester on June 27.

SAYREVILLE, NJ -- Dates for the trial of 52-year-old Bruce A. Cymanski of Barnegat, NJ, who was arrested in 2021 for the 1999 murder of 17-year-old Sayreville resident Nancy Noga, have been set. BARNEGAT - The Barnegat Police Department recently announced several promotions and welcomed a new officer.
