Koa Smith lives 12,000 miles from Namibia , but he's basically synonymous with the place.

In 2018 he rode a mile long wave , getting barreled 8-times in two minutes. It was such a spectacular ride, that had a drone not captured the entire wave, Smith says he "wouldn't have even remembered most of it." In the six years since, Smith has kept up a crazy pace at Skeleton Bay , visiting during at least one swell every year, and scoring more minutes-long tubes in Namibia than any other surfer on earth.

This year, despite the fact the sandbank is less perfect than it has been in years past, Smith still managed to nab the wave of the swell last week, ducking, driving and weaving through a wild tube, which you can see at 15:30 mark in his latest vlog, playing above.

"Oh Skeleton Bay," says Smith, leaving the beach after another marathon day. "She just gives you a little bit. You always see more. You always could get more. I feel like that's what keeps me coming back."

If Smith considers the waves he's scored over the years as "just a little bit", we can only imagine the unridden waves he's witnessed.

Apparently unicorns do exist, and Smith won't rest until he rides one. With that sort of commitment, if he's not already the GOAT at Skeleton Bay, at this pace he certainly will be soon.
