Super Girl Surf Pro Set To Return To Oceanside For Sweet 16th Anniversary

First run in 2008, the Nissan Super Girl Pro as been a cornerstone event for countless young women looking to launch their pro careers over the years, and the esteemed contest returns to the Oceanside Pier this September. With previous winners including world champs and Olympic gold medalists Carissa Moore and Caroline Marks , a win in Oceanside is a statement that one’s on the right trajectory.

Among those in the draw this are rising star for Hawaii Vaihitimahana Inso, Florida social media powerhouse Zoe Benedetto and Barbados’ Chelsea Tuach. And if the surf’s pumping, look for the queen of Pipeline, Moana Jones Wong , to shine.

Outside of the surf, Super Girl organizers are look to bring a festival vibe to Oceanside with an all-female DJ contest, more than a dozen live music concerts, an esports tournament, as well as a myriad of fitness classes, autograph signings and art exhibitions. New this year, there’s also going to be a women’s beach volleyball tournament and clinics, a women’s beach soccer tournament and clinics, a cheer and dance competition, and skateboard contest. Literally thinking of everything, they also have a “Mom’s Day” planned.

“We’re so happy to see the return of the Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro," said WSL North America Regional Manager Meg Bernardo. “Oceanside provides the perfect venue to showcase the women and allow our North America and Hawaii/Tahiti Nui’s surfers to gain valuable Challenger Series qualification points. The festival atmosphere adds to the great fun end of summer experience.”

A WSL Qualifying Series 3,000 event, the Nissan Super Girl Pro in Oceanside will run from September 20-22, 2024.
