Midway through May, Houston Cougars quarterbacks coach Shawn Bell and first year head coach Willie Fritz landed the next member of Houston's quarterback room by acquiring the commitment of Missouri City (TX) Ridge Point QB Austin Carlisle. Carlisle wasted no time, immediately hitting the recruiting trail to bolster his class. The three-star officially visited Houston on June 7th and noted that he spent the majority of his time talking to Houston (TX) Heights safety Zaylen Cormier and Cypress (TX) Cy-Fair tight end Wyatt Herbel, two prospects who committed shortly after their visits. He's continued to spearhead a recruiting class that's on pace to be one of, if not the best, in school history. This past weekend, Carlisle competed at Dave Campbell's Texas State 7 on 7 Tournament. The Ridge Point Gunslinger led his team into the second round of the winners' bracket alongside his teammate, Gil Jackson, who recently picked up a Houston offer.

Volunteers who lived in NASA’s Mars simulation for over a year will finally emerge today
After 378 days inside a mock Mars habitat, the four volunteers for NASA’s yearlong simulation of a stay on the red planet are coming home. The crew — Kelly Haston, Anca Selariu, Ross Brockwell and Nathan Jones — is scheduled to exit the 3D-printed habitat in Houston this evening.
