Off-leash dogs a danger
Once again I need to address the situation at Little Long Pond as it pertains to dogs off leash. In September 2023, both of my collies were attacked the same day by two different dogs at two different times and locations while hiking the trails. Fast forward 10 months later to July 1, 2024, and the same situation has occurred. I was really hoping that by this time there would be some updates and changes. The outgoing CEO [code enforcement officer] did reach out back then to let me know they were reviewing the situation and hoped to move forward on how best to handle this. Almost a year later there still has been no modifications or changes. Since that time, I have spoken to many dogs owners, who have also had bad experiences and most don’t report it. I feel that the public needs to be aware that safety is an issue and really hope that something will be accomplished this year. I can tell you I no longer go there on the weekends as that is when the trails are overrun by dogs off leash and I no longer feel safe taking my dogs there.
