SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED PRIOR DISTURBANCE
Sutherlin Police jailed a man Monday for an alleged prior disturbance. An SPD report said on July 9th two calls came in regarding a disturbance in the 300 block of Pine Street. Neighbors reported hearing a male versus female verbal altercation and then one to two shots fired from a firearm. Units arrived on the scene and found a female victim had been involved but had just left moments earlier. The suspect, 34-year-old Joshua Pitner refused to answer phone calls and did not come out to speak with police. After learning that no other people were inside the house, officers left the area.
WOMAN HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING TWO-VEHICLE CRASH
A Roseburg woman was hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday. A Roseburg Police report said just after 2:00 p.m. a 20-year-old driver was head. ed east on Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The woman admitted to driving through a red light at the intersection with Northwest Mulholland Drive. The second driver, an 89-year-old woman, had a flashing yellow light as she attempted to turn left from the freeway off-ramp onto Garden Valley. The two vehicles collided and both sustained front end damage.

YONCALLA MAN CITED FOR HIT AND RUN
A Yoncalla man was cited after a hit and run incident on Wednesday afternoon. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 4:15 p.m. a vehicle drove off the roadway in the 500 block of Melrose Road, at the former Kruse Farms location. It sideswiped a telephone pole causing it to sheer off from the bottom. The male driver then left the location.
Multiple agencies assist Douglas County with ending a vehicle chase near Myrtle Point
On July 15th, 2024, at 10:53 p.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office entered Coos County on Hwy 42 at mile marker 45 in active pursuit of a Toyota Camry. Douglas County requested assistance from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office as the pursuit continued westbound towards Myrtle Point. Sgt. S. Moore and Deputy Z. ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED WEAPON VIOLATION
Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged weapon violation on Thursday. An RPD report said at 10:50 p.m. multiple people said a male neighbor was shooting a pellet gun at them in the 1900 block of West Bertha Avenue. One person said she could hear ricochets from the pellets all around her and her friends as they were outside her residence. 70-year-old Douglas Morris was identified by two people as the pellet shooter. He was ultimately arrested and taken into custody.
BOTH VEHICLES LIKELY A TOTAL LOSS IN TWO-CAR ACCIDENT
Both vehicles were likely a total loss following a two-car accident in Roseburg on Tuesday afternoon. A Roseburg Police report said at 2:45 p.m. a 44-year-old woman was traveling west on Northeast Alameda Street and entered the intersection with Northeast Stephens Street with the intention of continuing straight onto Northwest Stewart Parkway. An 81-year-old woman was traveling north on Stephens Street and thought she had the green light. The second vehicle collided with the rear driver’s side of the first vehicle. Neither party was injured.
LAKESIDE MAN JAILED FOR ELUDING IN A STOLEN VEHICLE
A Lakeside man was jailed for eluding police in a stolen vehicle on Wednesday. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 7:20 a.m. a deputy received information about a pickup stolen from Florence. It was found about nine miles south of the intersection with Highway 126. The deputy advised other law enforcement regarding the vehicle’s location and attempted to stop it about four miles north of the intersection with Highway 38.
TENMILE MAN JAILED AFTER PURSUIT INCIDENT MONDAY NIGHT
A Tenmile man was jailed after a pursuit incident late Monday night. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 10:40 p.m. a deputy attempted to stop a sedan for violations in the 3000 block Strickland Canyon Road. The driver, 22-year-old Jered Thompson, proceeded west onto Highway 42 and continued with speeds between 60 and 100 miles per hour clear into Coos County before being spiked near Bridge by a Coos County deputy.
ROSEBURG MAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER TWO-VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN GREEN
A Roseburg man was hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident in Green Tuesday afternoon. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 12:40 p.m. the 83-year-old was traveling west near the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Little Valley Road. His pickup drifted across lanes into oncoming traffic and struck a second pickup which was headed east, though that driver was attempting to avoid contact. The vehicle hit was also towing a utility trailer which swung around due to the impact and struck a parked vehicle, causing damage.
