Local business taking legal action against City of Lakeside
LAKESIDE, Ore. — A business owner is taking legal action against the City of Lakeside after a recent incident disclosed sensitive information related to the business. Personal information of the owner of Dune Rider Café was disclosed in a meeting agenda packet that was published on paper as well as to the City’s website, social media and virtual video meeting location. The information was included in a renewal application for the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission.

BROOKINGS, Ore. – The second annual Wild Rivers Film Festival is establishing another tourism tradition that helps boost the Brookings economy. “I’m hopeful the Wild Rivers Film Festival will continue to grow and we’ll start seeing the fruits of their reward at the film festival with packed restaurants and venues all over town with folks going out and spending a lot of money,” said new city manager Tim Rundel, who also happens to be a documentary filmmaker with a short film in this year’s festival. “Tourism is a big industry here in Brookings, we attract a lot of people.”

DRAIN MAN JAILED ON WARRANT/DRUG CHARGE
A Drain man was jailed for a warrant and on a drug charge by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Friday night. A DCSO report said just before 6:30 p.m. a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Cedar Street and West B Street in Drain. The 40-year-old driver was suspended through the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles. He was determined to be a wanted person out of Douglas County Circuit Court.
