All evacuation notices lifted for fast-moving grass fire near Days Creek
DAYS CREEK, Ore. – Officials have issued an evacuation order for a road near the community of Days Creek as a fast-moving grass fire burns in the area. The Douglas County Sheriff’s office issued a Level One (Be Ready) evacuation order for all homes on Michaels Ranch Lane near Days Creek in the afternoon of July 19 in response to a fast-moving grass fire. Residents in the area should prepare to leave if the danger increases, and may want to leave the area now. A Level One evacuation notice means that danger is nearby, and residents should keep an eye on it in case conditions worsen.

Roseburg Police cited a man for an alleged theft incident on Thursday. Oregon’s wildfire season is off to a busy start, and it's expected to stay that way the rest of the summer, Gov. Tina Kotek acknowledged at a Friday news conference. A whopping 434,821 acres in 30 large wildfires have burned in the state already this season, in addition to issuing 88 evacuation orders and warnings. The number of acres burned this season is already more than all of last year and almost more than all of 2022.
