Bruins First-Round Draft Pick Ready For Freshman Season At Boston College
BOSTON — It won’t be hard for Boston Bruins fans to watch first-round draft pick Dean Letourneau with him right down the road at Boston College in the fall. Letourneau met two of his future Eagles teammates before his first day at development camp. Oskar Jellvik and Andre Gasseau are both coming out of their sophomore seasons at Boston College. The two made their fourth appearance at development camp.
Marblehead softball little league teams give their all
The 2024 Marblehead softball little league U-10 all-star team went 2-2 in the District 16 tournament. These young Marblehead stars defeated Winthrop in the opener, 12-2, before losing to Peabody, 18-3 that put them in the losers bracket in this double-elimination tournament. They then bounced right back to beat Winthrop again, 18-3, that earned them a berth in the district finals, where they lost to Peabody again, 18-8. As a result, the junior Tanners were crowned the District 16 champs.
Marion resident medals at Massachusetts Special Olympics
MARION — Thomas Grondin spent his first nights away from home for the Massachusetts Special Olympics in Boston in early June. Three swim events later, Grondin had three medals. He was one of more than 1,5000 athletes competing at the Massachusetts Special Olympics summer games between June 7 to June 9, which in addition to swimming had events like tennis, volleyball, powerlifting, and track and field.

SALEM — The YMCA of Metro North hosted its 39th Annual Fore the Kids Golf Tournament at Kernwood Country Club in Salem on June 24.
