07.18.2024 | Women's Volleyball ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team has earned the 2024 AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT. The announcement was made on Thursday (July 18) by the AVCA. This is the first year the Bulldogs have earned this award since receiving it back-to-back in 2019 and 2020, and the fourth time earning the honor in program history. The Bulldogs finished the 2023-24 academic year with a 3.405 GPA. More than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs maintained a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale)...

UNC Asheville Announces Plans to Build $4 Million On-Campus Tennis Facility
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone announced today, Thursday, July 18, that a $4 million outdoor tennis facility will be built on the campus of UNC Asheville. The on-campus facility will replace the Bulldog hardcourts located on the property of Asheville Racquet Club Downtown, which will be demolished due to the I-26 connector project. A feasibility study by McMillan Pazdan Smith Architects determined that an on-campus facility would best serve not only UNC Asheville student-athletes but also the campus and local community.

Position: Graduate Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis. Summary: The Graduate Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis will assist in all aspects of a competitive tennis program and is responsible for, but not limited to: the integration of Christian faith, and the recruitment, retention, and academic success of student-athletes. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in college tennis and recruiting; strong people skills; Experience in player development and strength and conditioning. In addition to coaching, this position requires assistance in multiple aspects of team management, including budgeting, facilities management, academic support, and retention of quality student-athletes.
