Warren Wilson College announces inaugural director of Master of Science in Applied Climate Studies
Following a national search, Warren Wilson College welcomed Keith McDade, Ph.D., as the director. The MACS program builds on the College’s decades-long legacy of leadership in climate change action and the strength of its undergraduate environmental programs. The two-year, low-residency graduate program will educate leaders capable of planning, implementing, and managing effective, just, and equitable climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. Applications will be accepted this fall for the inaugural class in 2025.

Asheville police charge 2nd man with ethnic intimidation after assault at library
ASHEVILLE - Police have charged a second man with ethnic intimidation after an assault of three seminar attendees at the West Asheville Library June 29. Tyler Byrne Hackett Kelly, 33, faces one charge of misdemeanor ethnic intimidation "specifically for his actions" at the library, according to a July 18 news release from the Asheville Police Department.

The announcement was made on Thursday (July 18) by the AVCA. This is the first year the Bulldogs have earned this award since receiving it back-to-back in 2019 and 2020, and the fourth time earning the honor in program history.
