Mebane city council offers three existing companies incentives for proposed expansions in city
Mebane’s city council acted last week to offer incentives packages to three existing companies that have plans to expand their operations in the city. The largest, for Morinaga, maker of Hi-Chew candies, is on the Orange County side of the city. Meanwhile, the city also agreed to provide two smaller amounts as a match in hopes of helping one Alamance County company get a state-funded building reuse grant and ponying up its share of the match for another where the company has been awarded such a building reuse grant.
