Johnson County leaders buy property to be used for affordable housing
IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - 15 apartments will soon be available for affordable housing in Iowa City, after a $1.7 million purchase by the Johnson County Board of Supervisors. The property is at 1102 Hollywood Boulevard and includes two-bedroom, one-bathroom, partially furnished, two-story townhomes. The units are newly renovated according to a news release, but still need energy-efficient upgrades before people can move in.
Eastern Iowa cleans up tree damage and debris after Monday storms
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Tree removal services in Eastern Iowa say the damage from Monday’s derecho is widespread, but wasn’t as severe as it could have been. One company told TV9 there could have been many more trees on the ground Tuesday, but the 2020 derecho may have helped keep some of them standing through the winds.

A New Dog Park Will Open in Cedar Rapids This Week
Cedar Rapids will get its third dog park later on this week! The 12th Avenue Dog Park is set to open its gates on Friday, July 19th at 10:30 a.m. Located at 405 12th Avenue SE in the Oak Hill Jackson Neighborhood, the 12th Avenue Dog Park is around a half-acre in size.
