Friends of Staunton Library to fund grounds renovation from Kiessling estate gift
The Friends of the Staunton Library, as humble recipients of an estate gift from former board member Julia Kiessling, will conduct a renovation of the library grounds. Kiessling designated the Friends of the Staunton Library as a beneficiary of her estate and bequeathed more than $500,000 to the organization upon her death in 2022. She served on the Friends of the Staunton Library Board from 2018 to 2019 and was the newsletter editor during her term.

Car break in at Gypsy Hill Park
STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) - A car break in was reported to the Staunton Police Department at Gypsy Hill Park on July 27. According to Staunton PD the call came in at 7:40pm. There was a broken window, and a purse was stolen from the vehicle. There was another call that came in at 8:19pm for an attempted break in, where someone tried to break the window but were unsuccessful.
City of Harrisonburg breaks ground to build Fire Station near Park View neighborhood
HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Harrisonburg city officials and the city’s fire department broke ground at the new Station 5 on Mt. Clinton Pike this morning. Deputy Fire Chief Matt Tobia spoke at the ceremony about the need for a fire station in the Park View area, and the need to get the project off the ground.
