7-year-old boy drowns in Autauga County pool
PRATTVILLE − A seven-year-old boy drowned in Autauga County on Friday night, Sheriff Mark Harrell confirmed. Harrell said the drowning happened at a private pool in the County Line area of Autauga County. The unincorporated community is about 10 miles north of Prattville near the Autauga-Elmore county line. Coosada residents upset over electric for gas facility
Potential new Alabama Power lines to a Spire liquified natural gas plant and storage facility near Coosada have neighbors almost screaming for help. Coosada Mayor Jim Houston, councilmember Howard Goza and Henry Hassey all live on Jackson Bend Road. They said for months Alabama Power has been trying to take their property to construct a new high voltage power line to power the gas plant just outside town limits. Hassey is concerned with how close the lines are to current residences.
Construction underway on massive sculpture in Huntsville
HUNTSVILLE – Construction began this week to erect a new sculpture on the lawn of Huntsville Hospital along Governors Drive. When completed, the sculpture will soar an impressive 21 feet tall and 25 feet wide, beautifully connecting the Medical District with Arts Huntsville’s popular downtown Public Art Trail.

Tuscaloosa’s DCH to End 28-Room Hotel Program for Patients & Loved Ones
Tuscaloosa's DCH Regional Medical Center will soon end a program that provides patients and loved ones with an affordable place to stay before or during hospitalization.
