Public hearing set to discuss possible Sylvania roundabout

The city of Sylvania will hold a public meeting to discuss a proposed roundabout at the intersection of Erie and Monroe streets and other planned road improvements.

An open house public meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 6 in the Sylvania City Council Chambers, 6635 Maplewood Ave. It will feature exhibits illustrating the proposed project, and representatives from the project team will be available to answer questions.

In addition to the proposed roundabout or alternatives to the roundabout, other planned improvements to be discussed include the repaving of Erie from Centennial Road to Monroe.

City officials are seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include those involving archaeological, architectural, and ecological resources, hazardous materials, and the general location of the project.
