    Former Edison Tech, Syracuse star to continue pro basketball career overseas

    Rochester's Dyaisha Fair, who became the third leading scorer in NCAA Division I history at Syracuse, will hoop overseas.

    The former Edison Tech basketball star signed with Israeli Women's Basketball League team Maccabi Haifa this summer. The season begins later this year . Fair was drafted by the Las Vegas Aces in April then waived the next month.

    At Edison Tech, Fair averaged 33.5 points per game as a senior and became the first Rochester City School District girls basketball player athlete to earn All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year in 2019.

    Maccabi announced Fair's signing on its Instagram June 16.

    Maccabi Haifa plays in the Israeli Women's Basketball League. It is considered the country's top women's league. Maccabi went 6-12 last season. WNBA all-star Liza Cambage played in the same league in 2023 before leaving for China.

    Fair was waived by Las Vegas after the Aces' fourth game of the season. She made her pro debut in Game 4 and dished out two assists in four minutes. Fair was drafted No. 4 in the second round (16th overall) by Las Vegas in April.

    Fair did not appear in the Aces' first three regular season games and was waived May 26.
