Man dies after crashing into tree in La Plata
A 64-year-old man is dead after crashing into a tree in La Plata. On Oct. 4 at 12:17 a.m., officers responded to the area of Chapel Point Road and Brooks Farm Road in La Plata for the report of a single-vehicle crash. When officers and EMS arrived, they located a Chevy Tahoe that left the roadway, struck a tree and came to a stop back in the roadway, a release from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said. The driver, who was the only occupant, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver has been identified as Xavier Anthony Lenard Robinson, 64, of Bel Alton. The investigation is ongoing. Wade Elementary School Student Stabs Classmate With Pencil, Bashes Second With Book: Sheriff
A strange scene played out on Oct. 4 at Wade Elementary School, when a student used everything at his disposal to dispose of his peers inside a classroom, officials say. Investigators from the Charles County Sheriff's Office said that the student purposefully jabbed one classmate in the leg with a pencil and struck another student in the head with a book.
