Georgia Drivers, Get Ready for 100 Days of Summer H.E.A.T.
Memorial Day weekend kicks off the 100 Days of Summer H.E.A.T. (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) campaign across Georgia. For the next 100 days through Labor Day, law enforcement agencies statewide will crack down hard on dangerous driving behaviors. What to Expect Waves of high-visibility enforcement patrols looking for: Speeding and aggressive driving Failure to wear seatbelts Impaired driving (DUI) Distracted driving like texting behind the wheel Penalties If caught speeding or driving aggressively, you will be cited and face hefty fines. Seatbelt and child restraint violations will earn you a ticket. Drunk drivers will be arrested and jailed - no exceptions. Speeding in particular is a major focus, as it's considered a high-risk behavior that contributes to over 200 fatal crashes annually in Georgia. Drivers are warned - obey speed limits and drive sober and belted to avoid getting caught in summer H.E.A.T.
