Check out the 4-H camps available for Coshocton County children
COSHOCTON − Coshocton County 4-H has opportunities for youth to learn, make connections and have fun this summer. Cloverbud Day Camp is for youth finishing kindergarten through those finishing second grade. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 8 at Lake Park, 23253 Ohio 83. The theme is Going on an Olympic Adventure. Participants will make crafts, play games and go swimming. Cost is free and includes lunch and snack. Registration is due to the Ohio State University Extension Office of Coshocton County by May 31. The Coshocton County Youth Financial Support Committee is sponsoring the program.

Maryjane Mitchell has been doing genealogy work on her family for about 15 years. This includes uncovering the military history of her father, William "Jake" Dobson. Dobson was a technician fifth grade in the U.S. Army during World War II and served with the 479th Amphibious Truck Company during the invasion of Normandy.

COSHOCTON − Job fairs were once few and far between in Coshocton County, now they're more frequent as businesses are finding it harder and harder to fill positions. Lynn Jacobs, director of Ohio Means Jobs of Coshocton County, has often compared the jobs market to a swinging pendulum. Currently it's far in the direction of too many jobs and not enough workers. This has been the story since the COVID-19 pandemic, he said.

Warsaw and Newcomerstown receive H2Ohio grants
COLUMBUS — The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency recently announced $2.2 million in H2Ohio grants for more than 250 communities in 78 counties to help pay for equipment needed to maintain public drinking water distribution systems. Two of the recipients were Warsaw and Newcomerstown. They will receive $9,981 and $9,655, respectively. Project will help with having reliable, clean drinking water through investments in drinking water systems. Public water systems were eligible to apply for up to $10,000 through H2Ohio. The grants cover distribution system equipment such as mobile leak detectors, line locators, valve exercisers, flow meters, hydrant condition assessors, pressure monitors and training to use the equipment.
