This Texas City Is No. 4 in the U.S. for Naked Gardening
AUSTIN, Texas (KPEL News) - As we get through springtime and into summer, we are definitely spending more time outside. In the south, that does involve a lot of time in our gardens. After all, there is something therapeutic about getting your hands a little dirty and building something beautiful...

As the holiday weekend approaches, many of us plan to hit the road traveling across the state of Texas. It's a great time to be with family and friends. However, there's an important part of the trip we must be aware of: speed traps. A great resource is Speedtrap.org where...

Help This Texas Lake Win “Best In The USA”
There is a contest underway to select the best lake in the United States of America and one lake in Texas ... no, it's not Ascarate ... has a shot at winning. Our neighbors in New Mexico don't have a dog in this particular fight and our other southwest buds in Arizona will have to share the title if their lake wins.
Airport parking reservation system is turned off for summer?
I thought the addition of the reservation system was a smart move and have happily used it several times. Anyone know why they need to disable it for the whole summer? Were too many folks reserving spots then not showing up?
Final Update on the abandoned puppy
Although Maple is a little indignant about having to wear a soft cone while her legs heal, she has adjusted very very well to her new home and her adopted big sister Lucy. Maple was abandoned near Walnut Creek and through the efforts of some really amazing folks her injuries were tended to, meds and flea mitigation applied, and she is on the road to recovery. A special shoutout goes out to Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital and their amazing staff. They went far, FAR above and beyond and they truly saved this puppy’s life. With that, we will close the book on this event but wanted the community to know that Austin has some really amazing, kind, and compassionate people. A happy ending to a tragic abandonment. Thank you.
