CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - It was a Championship Saturday in Burns, Wyoming and Wyoming News Now Sports was there to capture the action from The Chute. First game of the day, two top ranked teams, the Lingle Ft. Laramie Girl’s taking on Tongue River. With two teams that can score and defend from just about any part of the court, you knew this would be close. It was, the Lady Eagles came out on top 45-40. The title match was saw a one point Tongue River lead at the end of the first and second quarter. The Lady Eagles blew it open in the third, outscoring the Lady Doggers 10-2. Seven of those points coming from Chaney Reish. Natalie Speckner and her Lady Doggers did not go down with out a fight in the fourth quarter, she hit two three and scored nine points, but that poor third quarter is what did them in. McKinlee Scammon lead Tongue River with 12 points in their first Regional Championship since 2014, the same year they won it all. The Lady Doggers will be a two seed in the State Tournament, Natalie Speckner lead all scorers with 14 points.
