Minnesota has legalized the use of cameras to capture speeding violations
The Minnesota Legislature has approved a measure enabling Minneapolis to implement cameras for catching speeders and drivers who run red lights. This provision was included in an omnibus bill passed on Sunday during a legislative session. The pilot project is slated to commence on August 1, 2025. Minneapolis has been given 15 months to develop a plan outlining how the program will function and to determine the placement of up to 42 cameras.
