Vacaville police seeking driver who hit grandfather, amputee while he was walking dog
VACAVILLE, Calif. — A 73-year-old grandfather is in the hospital recovering after he was hurt in a Vacaville hit-and-run. One of his daughters said she found him lying on the road on her way home from work Monday night. The family lost their mother to cancer several years ago, and this week, they almost lost their father and dog.
Toys for Tots Yolo County Hosts Successful Fundraiser
YOLO COUNTY, CA (MPG) - Toys for Tots Yolo County announced Sept. 25 that their benefit concert featuring Northern California favorite Mumbo Gumbo, and sponsored by and held at Sudwerk Brewing Co., was a success. Held on Sept. 21, the event raised more than $4,000 that will benefit local families.
Camp Barry rescues Dogs/ Fosters Puppies
Rhonda Barry does the most impossible but noble gesture: She rescues dogs. The owner of Camp Barry thanklessly yet thankfully saves canines who’ve been abandoned or simply dropped off at her door on Parkway Drive. Admirable! To date, Rhonda has 23 dogs which include 11 adorable puppies, Catahoula/ Lab mix soon to be neutered and spayed. All dogs, with the exception of the 11 week-old puppies have their shots and have been spayed/neutered. Rhonda credits the Humane Society with helping the spay/ neuter program offered free and discounted services provided by the UC Davis Veteranarian Program.
