The KML Chargers got back on the winning track by Kicking Out conference rival Kewaskum 42-7. The Chargers started on D and forced the Indians to punt on their first drive. KML then drove down in a time consuming drive capped off by a Josh Duba rushing touchdown from 5 yards out to take a 7 -0 lead. in the second quarter, Duba found the endzone again, this time from 7 yard out to make the score 14-0. Kewaskum mounted a drive of their own, but the D stiffened up at the goal line, making a stop on 4th and goal at the 1 to take the 14-0 lead into halftime. KML wasted no time to start the 3rd quarter. Adam Zylka took the ball on a jet sweep and thanks to Duba’s crushing block and some hard running of his own, he found the endzone from 40 yards out. The score was now 21-0. After the D forced Kewaskum to punt on a 3 and out, Josh Duba broke free from 51 yards for his 3rd score of the night making it 28-0 heading into the 4th quarter. Kewaskum would score to make it 28-7, but the Chargers once again showed their resilience by scoring on the next drive. This time, sophomore QB Jonah Kruse kept the ball and ran 19 yards to pay dirt. After forcing a fumble deep in Indians territory, Anthony Mish finished off the scoring for the night with a 3 yard TD run. Barrett Walvogel’s 6th extra point of the night made the final score 42-7. The offense rushed for a season high 423 yards behind the stout offensive line. The defense held Kewaskum to 83 yards on the ground.
