Members of the Career Magnet School (CMS) Student School Board and Mrs. Garland’s civics class participated in a community service project aimed at cleaning the Hometown Heroes Banners that adorned the streets of Chambersburg for two years. The banners, which honor local veterans, have been exposed to various weather conditions, resulting in significant dirt accumulation.
Upcoming Closure of Northbound I-81 Welcome Center for HVAC Upgrades
The northbound Interstate 81 Welcome Center in Franklin County, located approximately one mile north of the Maryland state line, will be closed from June 3-7 for the replacement of its HVAC system with a more energy-efficient model. This closure will also affect the Welcome Center parking area. The nearest alternative rest area on northbound I-81 is just north of Exit 37 (Route 233/Newville).
