Pharmacy Care, a Wilton Manors-based pharmacy operating under the name The Medicine Shoppe, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, marking the end of over two decades of business. The pharmacy, which has nearly a dozen locations, including seven in South Florida, petitioned for liquidation on August 19, 2024, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Therefore, many Floridians can see the writing on the wall - that their local Winn Dixie may be converted. And now it is confirmed to be happening in the Villages and not all residents are happy.

The company, known for producing diagnostic tests for pregnancy, glucose levels, drugs, Covid-19, and other diseases, filed the petition on August 30, 2024, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in West Palm Beach.
