LLCC Geography Students Shine at State Awards
Two students from Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC), Sean McCarthy and Quinten Palmer, received awards at the Illinois Geographical Society's annual banquet held in Burlington, Iowa, on April 26. Sean McCarthy was given the Charles Womack Award, named after the late geography professor Charles 'Chuck' Womack of Lakeland Community College. This award recognizes a student's academic and extracurricular achievements in geography. McCarthy is expected to complete his associate in arts degree in May 2025. Quinten Palmer was honored with the Outstanding Community College Two-Year Student Geography Award for his strong performance in geography courses. Palmer, who is pursuing a geography major at LLCC, plans to graduate in December 2024. After graduation, he intends to continue his studies in geography at Illinois State University.'Visit here for more details.
