L.D. Fargo Library celebrates 122 years
LAKE MILLS — The L.D. Fargo Public Library is celebrating 122 years, and invited the community to visit the library for cake, coffee and to read about the history of the library Oct. 7. In 1899, L.D. Fargo offered to donate to Lake Mills so a library could be built in the historic home. Following construction, the library was opened by October 1902, and has since had updates to the rear, new shelving and updated technology. Now, the library is looking to expand the upstairs section that would still preserve the historic outside of the library. Library leaders have said the current size is not large enough to best serve the community.
