A nearly 13-year-old Labrador mix, Gunner was a member of John Gilcrease’s family, loved and cared for by Gilcrease, his wife, Courtney, and their four children, ages 3 to 9. Despite the arthritis in his hips, Gunner still had energy enough to chase rabbits near the barn. Denton police recovered 35 counterfeit pills that likely contain fentanyl when they arrested a 54-year-old man on a warrant Thursday, according to a police report. Officers obtained a felony arrest warrant from a local judge on Tuesday charging the man with possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, less than 1 gram.

Three people died and three others were injured in a major crash in Denton County on Friday, August 23. "At least two individuals had CPR performed on them, and a total of six individuals were transported by five ambulances to Medical City and to Presbyterian in Denton," said Argyle Police Chief Emmitt Jackson.
