Right down the middle, Pontiac generates energy in winning softball regional championship
So much of winning comes from positive energy on the field and in the dugout. For Pontiac, it has been Maddie Gourley and Elena Krause helping lead at the plate and on the field. Throw in Olivia Lindsay and it is easy to see why that energy source shoots right through the middle of the field, from home plate to the fence in center.

DUNLAP – Brian Masching told Maddie Gourley the team needed her to get on base. Gourley was scheduled to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning for Pontiac in its regional championship game Saturday against host Dunlap. Masching, a PTHS assistant who coaches third base, was trying to give a bit of a pep talk to Gourley, his daughter Bailey Masching and Elena Krause.

What might have been turned out to be the end of the road for the 2024 baseball season for Pontiac as it dropped a 10-0 decision to Joliet Catholic in the semifinal round of the Class 3A Pontiac Regional tournament at The Ballpark at Williamson Field on Wednesday, May 22. A wild pitch led to a wild ending of a what turned out to be a wild game as Pontiac edged Bloomington 10-9 in 10 innings of their nonconference baseball tilt Friday. Pontiac ends regular season with one-run win over Normal West
NORMAL — A 5-3-5 double play thwarted a comeback effort by the home team as Pontiac escaped with a 4-3 nonconference softball victory over host Normal West Friday. Pontiac scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning, which proved key as the Wildcats took advantage of three PTHS errors to score three runs. The Amerinds ended the rally with a double play on a grounder to Brooke Burger at third, who threw to first for the first out and then took a throw from Cadence Helms to make the third out on the play.
