Cleveland Heights (Oh.) defensive lineman Brandon Caesar collected a long list of scholarship offers including West Virginia, Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Southern California, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Michigan State and more. But it was the Mountaineers that surged to the forefront in his recruitment led by the efforts of inside linebackers coach Jeff Koonz. West Virginia offered in January and he made several visits to campus including an official visit during the first weekend in June. That trip helped to push the Big 12 Conference program up his list and it came down to West Virginia edging out Tennessee in his recruitment. Caesar fills a major need for West Virginia on the defensive line with a talented option that could play several different spots. The Mountaineers beat out a long list of programs for this one.
