Man arrested in connection with North Toledo shooting
A North Toledo man was arrested Thursday morning after he allegedly shot and wounded an individual Wednesday night. Around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, a 39-year-old man drove to a home in the 500 block of Cleveland Street where his 18-year-old son was living. When the son declined his father’s request to leave with him, the father got into an argument with Andrew J. Payne, 45, who also lives in the home on Cleveland Street. The argument escalated, and Mr. Payne ended up shooting the father. The father was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Payne was arrested and subsequently booked into the Lucas County jail early Thursday morning on a single count of felonious assault, a second degree felony.
