Lafayette sheriff OKs higher property tax rates
Sheriff Mark Garber signed off on rolling forward two property tax rates this week. His office is estimated to collect roughly $2.9 million more in property taxes as a result. As sheriff, Garber runs a taxing district that collects two property taxes and a sales tax to fund his office, generating about $48 million in total revenues.
