Cats and dogs from flood-ravaged North Carolina find hope in Fairfax
FAIRFAX, Va. — Homeward Trails Animal Rescue (HT) in Fairfax Station will open its doors Tuesday to some very special guests — up to 50 cats, dogs, puppies and kittens, all rescued from the flood-devastated counties of Yancey and Mitchell in North Carolina. These animals, many of whom were stranded in shelters without running water, electricity, or basic resources, are being brought to safety thanks to the efforts of HT and its partners, including the Bissell Pet Foundation.
