Notebook: Riley 'going to be huge for us'; Underwood figuring out last-shot options
ROSEMONT, Ill. — Brad Underwood paused, almost to consider how he wanted to approach the question of Will Riley and what the freshman's impact could be this year. Underwood has seen Riley in practice and saw him go on a scoring binge in Indianapolis on the EYBL circuit over the summer. Riley, all 6-foot-8 of him, was the No. 20 overall player in the Class of 2024 after reclassifying from the Class of 2025. He's blessed with the kind of length, athleticism and scoring punch to make an impact as a freshman. He's predicted to be a one-and-done first-round pick by some NBA Draft experts.
