Authorities I.D. Local Victim of Fatal Shooting at Hotel in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, NJ – An investigation continues into the deadly shooting that took place at a Fairfield hotel on Friday afternoon, according to Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Fairfield Police Chief Anthony Manna.The fatal shooting at the Ramada Hotel on Two Bridges Road in Fairfield occurred at approximately 12:27 p.m. on Friday. The Fairfield Police Department received a 911 call reporting “unknown trouble” at the hotel. Arriving officers located two males both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One male was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:35 p.m. The second victim was rushed to an area hospital, where he is currently being treated. Tragic Linden Crash: Two Men Killed on Route 1
Linden, NJ - Two men were killed in a motor vehicle crash on Route 1 overnight. Just before 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, Linden Police Officers responded to the intersection of Route 1 and S. Stiles St on reports of a motor vehicle crash. According to preliminary reports, a 2013 Infiniti sedan was traveling northbound on route 1 when it struck a tractor trailer that was making a left turn onto S. Stiles St from the southbound lanes. The driver and a second passenger were both transported to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries, where the second passenger succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The truck driver was not injured in the crash and is cooperating with the police. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau, and anyone with information is urged to contact Inv. Michael Rozycki at (908) 474-8505.
