After five years in business, a Greenville bar announced on Sunday it has closed its doors forever.

This year’s summer reading is a three-ring circus at the Laurens Library with the theme—Ringling Readers! All events and programs will be at the Laurens Library this year, but you can sign up starting June 3rd at ANY library location, including the Bookmobile. Each participant will receive a tracking card to record their 12 books or 12 hours of reading. Or visit one of our participating businesses to obtain a stamp that counts as one book, or one hour. This year we spread the joy with partner businesses in Clinton, Joanna, and Gray Court as well as Laurens. Complete your card by August 3 to qualify for a spectacular prize. Children under 11 years old receive a tee-shirt when signing up, as long as supplies last. Then, during the summer, take part in our many big-top programs. Main events for children ages 3-10 include juggling, storytelling, and a visit by our animal friends. Kids 6-10 will help craft exploding cotton candy and clown marionettes, while teens 14-17 will race Mario Karts and design their own clown makeup. Edwin McCain grew up in Greenville loving music, but expecting to become a lawyer. Eventually, he started busking in Charleston, one thing led to another, and before he knew it, he became one of the biggest hitmakers of 1998 and beyond. The only drawback is that the chicken pieces are a bit too large, making some of the thicker pieces less flavorful. 🦞 Ginger Scallion Lobster: 💰 $45, Recommended 👍 The lobster is fresh, and the ginger scallion flavor is strong - in Cantonese, we'd say it has a great "wok hei" (pan aroma)! The downside is the portion size, which is more suitable for 2-3 people. 🐟 Fish-Flavored Shredded Pork: 💰 $18, Recommended 👍 A perfect dish to accompany rice, enhanced with bamboo shoots and a sweet and sour flavor. It's a bit salty, so it's best eaten with rice. 🍜 Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles: 💰 $15, Not Recommended ❌ Not authentic; both the noodles and the seasoning miss the mark, so better skip this one.
